Tigerton hasn't had much luck against Gresham Community recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will host the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.
It was a proper cat-fight when Tigerton duked it out with Wild Rose on Thursday. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Wildcats. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-19 in the first set.
Tigerton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-22.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaelyn Brady, who had 23 digs and four aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more digs the last ten times she's played. Presley Stewart-Rolfs was another key player, getting 11 kills, ten digs, four blocks, and three aces.
Meanwhile, Gresham Community waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Lakers.
Gresham Community had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-13, 25-11, 25-15.
Gresham Community's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Tigerton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Tigerton has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Gresham Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Tigerton's way against Gresham Community in their previous matchup back in September, as Tigerton made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
