Palma extended the longest winning streak in Monterey Bay - Gabilan this week by beating Salinas, 35-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Chieftains.
San Benito took down Christopher 62-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Cougars' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joel Jimenez threw for 34 and one touchdown and Rayshon Mills had 55 yards receiving. On the ground Zach Almash chipped in 99 yards. Cole Rhodes helped Christopher's passing attack out by catching one ball for 11 yards.
Christopher's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sterlin Montgomery has thrown for 1458 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Mills has 40 catches for 546 yards. Almash leads the league in rushing with 432 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Monterey takes on Christopher. At the moment, the Toreadores are in first, while the Cougars are in sixth.
The Haybalers led Monterey Bay - Gabilan in scoring this week after putting up 62 points on Christopher.
