The Menendez Falcons and the Mainland Buccaneers squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Menendez Falcons had to settle for second. They were dealt a 59-14 defeat at the hands of the Buccaneers. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Menendez has scored all season.
Kali Harris was Menendez's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Mainland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Olson, who scored 21 points. Olson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 21 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Parks, who scored 15 points.
Menendez has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-9 record this season. As for Mainland, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Menendez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mainland will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Deltona on February 9th. Deltona has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 174 points over their last three matches.
