Pelham had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Homewood Patriots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-3 back in February.
Jordan Young made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Rebecca Roy was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of RE.Ese Jones, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Pelham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Homewood only posted an OBP of .290.
Pelham's victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Homewood, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-13-1.
