Spring Valley is a perfect 8-0 against Capital since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will look to defend their home field against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Spring Valley's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Capital has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
Spring Valley's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on South Charleston with a sharp 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Spring Valley got a great performance from Addie Lowe as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Lowe a new career-high.
At the plate, Sydney Turner was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Layla Marshall was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Spring Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Capital came up short against Riverside on Monday, falling 13-1.
Capital saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kathryn Crowder, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Spring Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Capital, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Capital's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Spring Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .356. It's a different story for Capital, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Spring Valley's hitters?
Everything went Spring Valley's way against Capital in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Spring Valley made off with a 17-1 win. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
