Basketball Recap: Haywood Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Haywood extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Camariya Woodland. The Haywood Tomcats took down the Humboldt Vikings 54-40 on Saturday thanks in part to Woodland, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Haywood's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Leia Yancey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The victory got Haywood back to even at 7-7. As for Humboldt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Haywood will be playing at home against Covington at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. As for Humboldt, they will venture away from home to take on Dyersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
