The Soroco Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They put the hurt on Caprock Academy with a sharp 53-28 win. That looming 53-28 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Soroco yet this season.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Pennie Underwood, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Underwood pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Soroco's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Caprock Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Soroco and North Park will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Park is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. Caprock Academy on the road again on Tuesday and play against Plateau Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Plateau Valley: 24.8, Caprock Academy: 29.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
