After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cleveland, the Walker Valley Mustangs were happy to have found some success on Monday. They walked away with a 52-44 victory over Hamilton Heights Christian Academy.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aisse Coulibaly, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coulibaly has scored all season. Tanah Becker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
The win got Walker Valley back to even at 11-11. As for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walker Valley will challenge the Cherokees at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. McMinn County is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Mustangs a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Hamilton Heights Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Soddy Daisy is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
