The Vanguard Academy Rembrandt Spartans can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past Idea Academy with a 28-23 win. The win was just what Vanguard Academy Rembrandt needed coming off of a 88-16 loss in their prior game.
Idea Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Paola Luna, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and three steals. Luna is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cloe Bernal, who scored five points along with five steals.
Vanguard Academy Rembrandt's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for Idea Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Vanguard Academy Rembrandt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Idea Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against IDEA Quest College Prep at 6:00 p.m.
