Basketball Recap: Anderson Piles Up the Points Against Cedar Creek

Anderson won the last time they faced Cedar Creek and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Anderson Trojans breezed by the Cedar Creek Eagles to the tune of 68-27. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.

Anderson was led to victory by Mya Counter and Brooke Fuller. Counter dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards, while Fuller went 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points and seven steals. Counter is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Mei Space was another key player, putting up six points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Anderson was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedar Creek only posted four assists.

Despite the defeat, Cedar Creek had strong showings from Kaini Mubasher, who went 5 for 8 en route to 10 points, and Mackenzy Roberts, who posted three points and three steals. That's the most steals Roberts has posted since back in January of 2024.

Anderson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Cedar Creek, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.

Anderson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-38 win against McCallum on the 24th. As for Cedar Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 37-36 loss against Navarro on the 24th.
