The Lunenburg Central Chargers pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 82-57 loss at the hands of Amelia County. Lunenburg Central was down 63-40 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Amelia County had a senior duo take command as JUSTIN PERRY shot 4-for-10 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds and JAIDEN SQUIRE scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five steals. PERRY is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. ANAIS KING was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Lunenburg Central has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Amelia County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Lunenburg Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Amelia County will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
