The Mars Hill Bible Panthers will be playing at home against the Marion County Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mars Hill Bible knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully the Red Raiders likes a good challenge.
Decatur Heritage Christian Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Mars Hill Bible proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 58-54 victory over the Eagles.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-46, which was the final score in Marion County's tilt against the Vikings on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Marion County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Vikings are ranked tenth).
Mars Hill Bible pushed their record up to 15-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Marion County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Mars Hill Bible against the Red Raiders when the teams last played back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 73-44 victory. Will Mars Hill Bible repeat their success, or do the Red Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
