Tahoma's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Auburn Riverside with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Bears have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Alexa Ramirez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Kalani Higa was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Hammington, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Tahoma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 11 consecutive contests.
Kennedy Catholic not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 18-2). Everything went their way against Auburn as they made off with a 16-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lancers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Bella Frank made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Frank was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Megan Wintermute, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Izzy McDonough, who went 1-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
Tahoma's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy Catholic, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.
Kennedy Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tahoma has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Kennedy Catholic, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Tahoma's sizable advantage in that area, the Lancers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Tahoma took their win against Kennedy Catholic in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
