Willcox extended their winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Maddie Bennett. The Willcox Cowboys came out on top against the Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans by a score of 50-39 on Thursday thanks to Bennett, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 20 boards. Those 20 rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Leading Edge Academy - GEC saw an underclassman step up: freshman Corynn Foster went 10-for-17 en route to 25 points. The matchup was Foster's seventh in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shailey Imbert, who posted five points and six boards.

Willcox pushed their record up to 21-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points over those games. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Willcox didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-34 defeat against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 17th. Leading Edge Academy - GEC does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
