The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils will head out to face off against the Big Spring Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Big Spring will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Greencastle-Antrim extended their winning streak to eight on Thursday. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Northern York. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Blue Devils have posted against the Polar Bears since May 10, 2022.
Kiersten Swain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Meadow Gambacurta and Caroline Logsdon did most of the damage at the plate: Gambacurta went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Logsdon went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four hits gave Logsdon a new career-high. Zhen Reuter was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Big Spring made sure to put some runs up on the board against James Buchanan on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Rockets 18-2. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Hannah Darhower was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Victoria Rinaldi, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Greencastle-Antrim has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Big Spring struggles in that department as they've averaged .487. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Greencastle-Antrim was able to grind out a solid win over Big Spring in their previous matchup back in April, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
