The Harding County Ranchers stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by New England on the road to the tune of 64-31. The victory was just business as usual for Harding County, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Harding County was led to victory by Jaelyn Wendt and Claire Verhulst. Wendt scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and four steals, while Verhulst scored 17 points along with four steals. Verhulst is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kamry Padden, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Harding County's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28 points. As for New England, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harding County will take on New Underwood at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Underwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Harding County is ranked 17th). As for New England, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mandaree at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
