Crystal City is 8-2 against Bismarck since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Crystal City Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Bismarck Indians at 7:00 p.m. Crystal City is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Wednesday, Crystal City lost to Oak Ridge at home by a decisive 53-35 margin. While losing is never fun, Crystal City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while Oak Ridge is ranked 217th).
Bismarck suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. Their tough 65-39 loss to Kingston might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Bismarck has suffered against Kingston since February 7, 2018.
Despite the defeat, Bismarck got a solid performance out of Sven Wilson, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Wilson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played.
Crystal City bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Bismarck, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Crystal City was able to grind out a solid win over Bismarck in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 66-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crystal City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
