Highlands' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Bellevue as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bluebirds in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.
Highlands got a great performance from Patrick Davidson as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Davidson a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Highlands let Adam Forton and Nolan Schwalbach run wild. Forton went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Schwalbach went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Schwalbach has posted since back in March. Max McNay was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Boone County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Conner by a score of 11-7 on Wednesday.
Ayden Kays looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Rossi, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Mason Coughenour, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Boone County's victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Highlands, their win bumped their record up to 11-5-2.
Boone County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Highlands hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. It's a different story for Boone County, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Highlands' hitters?
