The Clovis East Timberwolves will head out on the road to face off against the Clovis North Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Clovis East sitting on three straight wins and Clovis North on 11.
Clovis East had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past Sanger 17-14.
Clovis East's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tommy Nix, who picked up 134 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Tyus Miller, who threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Nix is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, while Clovis North put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Clovis West. Clovis North blew past Clovis West 34-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Clovis North, who have now won five matches by 25 points or more so far this season.
Clovis North relied on the efforts of Mckay Madsen, who rushed for 66 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and Jackson Cinfel, who rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Cinfel is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Clovis East's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Clovis North, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
Clovis East came up short against Clovis North in their previous matchup back in September, falling 31-21. Can Clovis East avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
