For Taylor County, this counts as revenge for the 44-22 loss Gadsden County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Leading Taylor County to victory were Jershila Glover and LeeAsia Johnson. Glover scored 13 points, while Johnson scored 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Taylor County's points.
Gadsden County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jahyria Dillard, who scored ten points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Khyla Robinson, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Taylor County's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Gadsden County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Taylor County will look to defend their home court on Monday against Godby at 5:30 p.m. Godby presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Taylor County in Florida (Godby is ranked 219th, while Taylor County is ranked 584th). As for Gadsden County, they will head out on the road to challenge Madison County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
