The Burlington Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They strolled past Calhan with points to spare, taking the game 73-58. The win was just what Burlington needed coming off of a 65-39 loss in their prior game.
Burlington can attribute much of their success to Daniel Chacon, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chacon has scored all season. Adan Lopez-Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Burlington's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Calhan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Burlington and Genoa-Hugo/Karval will face off at 3:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Genoa-Hugo/Karval focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Saturday. As for Calhan, they will be playing at home against Miami-Yoder at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Miami-Yoder is ranked 199th, while Calhan is ranked 206th).
