Even though the San Pasqual Valley Warriors scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, the Seligman Antelopes still came out on top. Seligman took their match against San Pasqual Valley 70-61. That's another feather in the cap for Seligman, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Montae Walker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 6-for-10 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 40 points and 13 rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Leathan Beecher, who scored 14 points.
Seligman is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for San Pasqual Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seligman will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Gilbert Classical Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Gilbert Classical Academy is ranked 247th, while Seligman is ranked 269th). San Pasqual Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on San Luis at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
