The Sto-Rox Vikings were the 82-73 winner over the Northgate Flames when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Sto-Rox was outmatched by Northgate on the road and fell 81-52. Sto-Rox has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shalen Burton, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burton has scored all season. David Johnson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Sto-Rox now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Northgate, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sto-Rox won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shaler Area at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Shaler Area presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sto-Rox in Pennsylvania (Shaler Area is ranked 32nd, while Sto-Rox is ranked 448th). As for Northgate, they will head out on the road to face off against New Castle at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Castle will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
