Baseball Recap: Wahkiakum Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Wahkiakum didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Oakville Acorns on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Mules, who have now won three matches in a row.

Gage Robinson was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Wills, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Wahkiakum's record is now 6-1. As for Oakville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Wahkiakum will be playing at home against Ocosta at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Mules will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oakville, they have already played their next game, a 16-0 victory against Wishkah Valley on the 16th.
