Two dominant guards in Easton Albrecht and Nash Schroeder are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cedar Reds will head out on the road to challenge the Pine View Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
On Wednesday, Cedar came up short against Snow Canyon and fell 58-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cedar in their matchups with Snow Canyon: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Pine View faced Dixie in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pine View suffered a rough 76-56 loss at the hands of Dixie on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cedar dropped their record down to 4-17 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Pine View, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.
Cedar came up short against Pine View when the teams last played back in January, falling 67-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Schroeder, who scored 29 points along with five steals.
