The Dudley Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Hickory Red Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep alive their perfect 14-game seasons.
Dudley had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 46-34 win over Crest on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Andrew Attmore II was his usual excellent self, throwing for 246 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was LJ Southern, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Dudley's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. In that department, Jordyn Ratliff was the leader with two sacks.
Meanwhile, Hickory faced West Henderson in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hickory came out on top against West Henderson by a score of 28-16 on Friday.
Dudley's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.18 points. As for Hickory, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Dudley has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 229.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hickory struggles in that department as they've been averaging 190.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
