Basketball Recap: ALA - Queen Creek Extends Winning Streak to Three

ALA - Queen Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Eastmark Firebirds with a sharp 64-44 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

ALA - Queen Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Layfe Clarkson out in front who went 10 for 18 en route to 31 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Clarkson's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Austin Fullmer was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Several Firebirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rhys Walcott, who posted 17 points. Walcott is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayne Silver, who put up seven points and 11 boards.

ALA - Queen Creek pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Eastmark, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

ALA - Queen Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 84-61 loss against Prescott on the 13th. As for Eastmark, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 83-56 defeat against Mica Mountain on the 13th.
