The Hernando Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the George County Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hernando is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
While Hernando's win against Petal wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over the Panthers on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Eli Bagley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Koczka, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
George County came out on top against Center Hill on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Rebels' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Rebels have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Carson Pierce made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Cayler Havard was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
George County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Center Hill only posted an OBP of .263.
The win made it two in a row for George County and bumps their season record up to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Hernando, their record is now 6-4.
Both Hernando and George County just can't seem to miss. The Tigers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like George County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
