The Sharon Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sharon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
On Tuesday, Sharon needed a bit of extra time to put away Slippery Rock. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rockets, sneaking past 8-7.
Bryce Bodien looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Coen Fertig was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ian Fischer, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.
Sharon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mercyhurst Prep). They never let Seneca get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
The result came thanks to Brady Rice's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks.
Mercyhurst Prep now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sharon, their record now sits at 7-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sharon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Mercyhurst Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sharon came up short against Mercyhurst Prep in their previous meeting back in May of 2019, falling 5-2. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
