While Kaplan didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Port Barre Red Devils 10-0 on Friday. Considering the Pirates have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Kaplan and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Port Barre, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Kaplan has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Iota on the 1st. As for Port Barre, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 11-5 defeat against Westminster Christian Academy on the 1st.
