Whiteland will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Center Grove, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Trojans on Friday. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Blake Lyle looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Whiteland's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-2 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Blake Riddle was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Maalik Perkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Perry Meridian's offense. They lost 8-0 to Roncalli on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since April 23, 2024.
Perry Meridian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DJ Clymore, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
The victory snapped Whiteland's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-8 record. As for Perry Meridian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Whiteland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Perry Meridian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Whiteland came up short against Perry Meridian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 7-4. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
