Basketball Recap: Dayten Marion Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bentworth

Jefferson-Morgan won the last time they faced Bentworth and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets strolled past the Bentworth Bearcats with points to spare, taking the game 47-29.

Jefferson-Morgan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dayten Marion led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Marion is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jase Bedilion, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Jefferson-Morgan was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bentworth lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lucas Burt, who posted eight points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Hays, who had seven points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

The victory got Jefferson-Morgan back to even at 2-2. As for Bentworth, their record is now an identical 2-2.

Jefferson-Morgan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-44 win against Burgettstown on the 13th. As for Bentworth, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-47 defeat against Riverview on the 13th.
