First Colonial extended their winning streak to 16 on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 19-2 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Bayside Marlins. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 back in April.

As for Bayside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Bayside's part, they got a good showing from Zackery Schilmoeller, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Schilmoeller has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bayside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Barry Farias Jr, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. First Colonial is set to face off against their familiar foe Kellam at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 1.8, the Knights 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Bayside will challenge rival Princess Anne at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
