Parkland came out on top against Pleasant Valley on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Trojans put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 10-3 win. Considering the Trojans have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Steven Sepko looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Connor Gerhart was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Ben Weninger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Parkland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Valley struck out eight times.
