After a string of three wins, Winner's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Mt. Vernon/Plankinton by a score of 28-30. Winner were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mt. Vernon/Plankinton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat from the last time the teams met up.
The loss dropped Winner's record to 3-2. The win bumped Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's record up to 6-0.
Next week Winner take on Chamberlain at 7:00 PM. The teams are both seeking redemption after dropping matches that they were favored to win. Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against Chamberlain in two weeks at 7:00 PM.
