The St. Michael Warriors will head out to face off against the University Lab Cubs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in St. Michael's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
St. Michael barely beat Central Private the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors put the hurt on the Redhawks with a sharp 16-2 victory on Tuesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by ten runs or more this season.
Piper Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, St. Michael got a massive performance out of McKenzie McLeod, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave McLeod a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie Rahm, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
St. Michael hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.
Newman hit University Lab with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cubs fell 9-5 to the Greenies.
Charlotte Lowe was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Mary Whit Gammon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
St. Michael is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for University Lab, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.
Everything went St. Michael's way against University Lab in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as St. Michael made off with a 10-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
