Salesian College Preparatory gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Piedmont Highlanders with a sharp 41-17 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pride also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.
Salesian College Preparatory got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Izeah Buchanan out in front who threw for 220 yards and four TDs on only 17 passes. The Pride's leading receiver Carlton Perrilliat Jr was Buchanan's top target yet again, picking up 92 receiving yards and three scores.
Salesian College Preparatory was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Piedmont only rushed for 11 rushing yards.
Salesian College Preparatory didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jahlil Lindsey and Brycen Landry. Lindsey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Coming up, Salesian College Preparatory will be playing in front of their home fans against Moreau Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Piedmont, they are taking a road trip to square off against Middletown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
