Hamilton Heights extended the longest winning streak in Mid-Indiana this week by beating Northwestern, 41-22. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Huskies.
Maconaquah made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,825 from 6,337. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 28-19 victory over Peru last week.
Conner Faulkner provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hamilton Heights bested the Tigers. Faulkner's key target this week was Jesse Brown, who caught 3 passes for 56 yards.
Cody Hicks was a force in the backfield as the Braves topped the Tigers.
Kyle Dinn and Hicks gave Maconaquah a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Dinn threw for 132 yards and 1 touchdown, while Hicks ran for 223 yards. Josh Fewell also contributed to the rushing game with 54 yards on the ground.
Mitch Street's team's Monte Reed and Grant Weatherford led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Reed has thrown for 1,135 yards this season, while Weatherford has 28 catches for 671 yards. Hicks from Mark Hartman's team leads the league in rushing with 1,231 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Western takes on second place Hamilton Heights.
The Huskies' offense has racked up 301 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Western has allowed only 86 on the year.
