Hamilton was led to victory by Timothy Matthews and Devan McGee. Matthews dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while McGee scored 30 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which McGee has scored at least a third of Hamilton's points. Another player making a difference was Rodney Mcneal, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Hamilton's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Kirby, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Hamilton will head out on the road to square off against the Golden Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kirby, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. Southwind presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cougars in Tennessee (the Jaguars are ranked 30th, while the Cougars are ranked 201st).
