The Reagan Bison's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Downtown Doral by a score of 35-32.
Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrea Alvarez, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Alvarez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Naranjo-palma, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Downtown Doral got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrea Mole out in front who scored 20 points. Isabella Osorno was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Reagan dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Downtown Doral, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Reagan will stay at home for another game and welcome the Golden Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Miami Springs is ranked 670th, while the Bison are ranked 672nd). Downtown Doral will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th.
