The Ichabod Crane Riders will challenge the Shaker Bison at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Ichabod Crane is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Ichabod Crane will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Voorheesville on Thursday. The Riders put the hurt on the Blackbirds with a sharp 15-2 victory. Considering the Riders have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Torri Cutler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Cutler was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abbey Milazzo, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ali Cox was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Ichabod Crane was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Shaker was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of Shenendehowa by a score of 4-2. The Bison haven't had much luck with the Plainsmen recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Shaker saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jezabella Gray, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Shaker's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Ichabod Crane, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Shaker's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ichabod Crane has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. It's a different story for Shaker, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain Ichabod Crane's hitters?
Ichabod Crane took their victory against Shaker when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Riders repeat their success, or do the Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
