The Valley Lutheran Chargers's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pinconning and snuck past 50-48. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but Valley Lutheran was the better team in the second half.
It was another big night for Elijah Wolter, who scored 19 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Valley Lutheran's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Rauschert, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
The victory got Valley Lutheran back to even at 8-8. As for Pinconning, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Lutheran will take on Nouvel Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while Nouvel Catholic Central is ranked 143rd). As for Pinconning, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clare at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
