The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fayette Academy in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost six in a row.
Fayette Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miles Dawkins, who scored 15 points. Zane Pike was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
A J Morman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sacred Heart of Jesus, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Morman has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Gaines, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Fayette Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-12. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.
Fayette Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. Varsity Opponent is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 14-game streak of away losses. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. University School of Jackson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.
