The Wayne City Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Flora Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wayne City is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Wayne City was the victim of a tough 66-46 loss at the hands of the Mules. Wayne City has struggled against the Mules recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Wayne City saw an underclassman step up: James Walker scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Greenwalt, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Flora was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 47-43 to the Bulldogs. Flora has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wayne City has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Flora, they dropped their record down to 12-12 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Wayne City beat the Wolves 45-33 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Wayne City repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
