The Claremont Wolfpack's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by Bonita 83-43. While losing is never fun, Claremont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1095th, while Bonita is ranked 268th).
Claremont's loss came despite strong showings from Hugo Montejo and Jaden Wang. Montejo scored 16 points along with two steals, while Wang scored 12 points.
Claremont has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 18 of their last 19 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season. As for Bonita, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Claremont will take on Ayala at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ayala knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Claremont likes a good challenge. As for Bonita, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Glendora at 7:00 p.m. Glendora is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
