Foundation Christian Academy was handed a 21-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Falcons last Saturday. Foundation Christian Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-48 win over the Falcons. The victory was just what Foundation Christian Academy needed coming off of a 65-44 loss in their prior matchup.
Micah Sanders continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Foundation Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyndale Pittman, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cambridge Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell to St. Petersburg Catholic 78-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), Cambridge Christian still had to take the loss.
Zay Burton put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 26 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Proffitt, who scored eight points.
Foundation Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Cambridge Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Foundation Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Cambridge Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 9.5 rebounds per game. Given Foundation Christian Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Lancers will need to find a way to close that gap.
