Mason Sparks tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
On the hitting side, Jesse Muthler was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Dilling, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Forest Hills entered their tilt with Penns Valley Area on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Rams. The result was nothing new for the Rangers, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Chase Williamson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Williamson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddox Dombrosky, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Brody Custer was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Forest Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Forest Hills' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
