The Unaka Rangers lost against the Johnson County Longhorns back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Unaka's tough 55-31 loss to the Longhorns might stick with them for a while. Unaka has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Unaka's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Haley Taylor, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five assists, and Lauren Lund who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katlyn Dugger, who scored two points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Unaka's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Johnson County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unaka won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hancock County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Johnson County, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Hampton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
