Clairemont has gone a perfect 3-0 against San Dieguito Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clairemont is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Pacific Ridge 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chieftains.
Clairemont had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 15-25, 25-21, 25-15, 15-13.

Clairemont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabe Tocco out in front who had 18 blocks and 13 kills. Tocco has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 32 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Makoa Miner, who had 24 kills and four blocks.
University City typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday San Dieguito Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Centurions with a sharp 3-0 victory.
San Dieguito Academy never let University City on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-23.
Clairemont better focus on containing Robbie Hacker and Trevor Anderson as the pair were huge in San Dieguito Academy's win. Hacker had five digs and three aces, while Anderson had 34 assists and eight digs. Those three aces gave Hacker a new career-high.
Clairemont pushed their record up to 24-10 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for San Dieguito Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 22-16.
Clairemont was able to grind out a solid win over San Dieguito Academy when the teams last played back in March, winning 2-0. Do the Chieftains have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
