The wildest play of the season thus far occurred in a junior varsity football game in Ohio last night.
Jackson (Massillon, Ohio) beat Akron East on an incredible game-winning touchdown that featured two laterals, a fumble, and a wild scramble for the ball that resulted in Kyle Ericcson picking up the loose ball and sprinting into the end zone with no time remaining.
On fourth down with four seconds remaining and the score knotted at 6-6, Jackson had one final shot.
Quarterback Jaret Pallotta dropped back for a deep pass, but was forced to scramble. Before getting tackled, he dumped off a short pass to receiver Nick Shatrich.
Shatrich danced around and eventually gained positive yards. He attempted a lateral pass to a teammate just before he was tackled, but fumbled instead.
Three Akron East players attempted to grab the loose ball, but it somehow found the hands of Kyle Ericcson, who rumbled into the end zone for the remarkable game-winning score.
